YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
Our YDP program is a supplemental training opportunity for our WYSA Recreational Participants in the U12 and younger age range. The trainings for conducted on Friday nights at Grand Park on WYSA Recreational Fields in Lot E (F71, 72, 55-58). Staff from Indiana Fire Academy runs the training for the player's with guest staff from Indy Eleven, Indy Eleven Women's Team, IFA MLS Next U19s, ECNL (Girls) U19s players.
The Format and Curriculum is as follows:
6 Sessions typically on Friday through the WYSA Rec Soccer Season
2 Sessions on each Friday split between U5-8 and U10-12 age groups
Time may vary due to traffic, daylight, staff availability, but typically the youngest groups has the early session (530-6PM start time)
Each Session is one hour
Each session is broken up into 25 minutes of "Lead-in" games or activities to work on or introduce technical and tactical skills (passing, dribbling, Shooting, team shape, decision making) and 25 minutes of informal match play (scrimmage).
YDP sessions are also available for our Volunteer coaches to attend to get practice ideas and help them get a better understanding of how a session should be built, organized and what should be the focus in the session.
Registration for YDP is part of the registration process and signing up is as simple as adding the feature to your cart upon check out. If you failed to add it and want to go back into your registration and add it later.
